CLOSE YOUR EYES SWEETIE : You Can't Touch This But You Do Anyway

Some truly amazing women and men in my life have been posting thought provoking videos and links onto their Facebook status updates this month, March, Women's History Month.  In 2012 women are fighting battles over their right to control their own bodies, again.  These battles fall within the purview of Human and Civil Rights violations. Disregard your previous comfort.  Women are being attacked.  Politically Correct was a poor strategy, as it just gave those who hate women a temporary tummy tuck.  The staples have been removed, and we, my sisters, are under attack.  

Rage Against the Man-chine blogger, Nine Duece, describes herself thus:  

"I’m basically a “man” trapped in a woman’s body. What I mean is that, like a person with a penis, I act like a human being and expect other people to treat me like one even though I have a vagina."

This is fierce beauty in your face.  If you don't relate to Nine's self-description, you probably don't want to continue reading.  If you do agree, or disagree and continue reading, let's start with a few basic rules. 

1.  I'm making all comments open.  I will not be moderating any of the responses because, you hold your own magic wand.  Though there are only 21 followers of News From A Broad, I average 30 reads per day.  Just think before you hit the send button. Remember my motto - It is better to be kind, than to be right.

2.  You don't have to agree with anything within the post or with the commentary of other readers.  You do have to respect that these are complex issues, and that the more voices we bring to the table, the better the representation.  My other motto - All ships rise together.

I'm asking you, with so many insanely learned women and men, giving voice and creating vision in the world, why are we allowing anyone to have power over women's bodies other than women?
