One Lovely Blog :: Thanks Broads Abroad!

With our varied experiences, Broads Abroad Bloggers provide invaluable connection to the richly textured lives in our new countries.  The many Broad Blogs I rely upon to flush out a full range of topics, from Moms Abroad raising Third Culture Kids to Expat Aids Workers working developing countries, News From A Broad would like to thank each of you for sharing your stories and reshaping the way we see the world.

Elise Blalock of Global From Home who nominated News From A Broad for the One Lovely Blog Award is a perfect joy to read.  I am honored to pass the baton rouge to my favorite Broad Abroad bloggers!  I've often written that News From A Broad readers don't have to be living abroad to appreciate the daily events as if living abroad.  Life continues to present the same possibilities no matter where you love and live.  Global From Home is right on point with the tagline "Exploring the world within a 30 mile radius"!  Now living in Oklahoma City, continuing the trajectory of exploration in her US abode, Elise passes along daily living as well as tips from a life spent abroad.  Thank you Elise!

Broads Abroad Blogs!
  • Sometimes it happens that a Broad has to take a break from life abroad to tend to family.  Not the sad affair you might expect, Big Ass Belle is filled with Big Ass Flair!
  • Babies and Bruschetta takes you through the life and times of a young family living with two wee ones in Italy.  Watch out for the littlest Albino Hulk and his partner in crime, Little Miss Stubborn. What a way to raise fabulous Third Culture Kiddos.  WHEEEE!
  • Born in New Orleans and raised in Hong Kong, fellow Austinite and artist, John Langford, fully stepped out of the familiar two years ago and began living the vagabond life with the goal of traveling the world in three years.  Trace his path and view some of the most stunning travel photographs you will ever see at Cosmic Candid Camera.
  • Ah, Cuba, just a stones through away from the Yucatan Peninsula!  Here is Havana feels so much like life in Merida, Yucatan.  Let's go ya'll!
  • Brilliant London, is a pictorial dictionary of all that is bright and pungent in London.  You won’t mess up on your next trip to London as you will posses command of the English language used by our cousins across the pond.
  • Two blogs from the fabulous Jessi T. Walsh, performance/video/conceptual loving art gal pal o' mine.  Remember my reference to the Double Blind aka Rockett Ranch?  The Concentric Trench was created there! To learn about the guts of an art brain, visit Jessi Appleseed.  As the works progress, so do the entries.  Anticipate a flurry of updates in December 2012!
  • I am quickly growing very fond of the Norwegians moving to the Yucatan.  So when I met Marit Rambech, a Norwegians living in China, I had to add her to the News From A Broad blog roll.  Rapport China. is a lovely and translatable pictorial blog.
  • A fierce beauty and veteran of life abroad in San Miguel Allende, Babs continues to finds that Mexico is teaching her lessons on how to untie the knots of life and enjoy the moment.
  • Single Broads Abroad will relate well to the Tell Thai Heart  Humorous and insightful!
  • Elizabeth, a London trained violinist, now playing in the Orquesta Sinfonica de Yucatan, has built a dreamscape.  Sac Nicte, in the Maya jungle of Cuzama, Yucatan is truly magical.
  • The singular glories of more relaxed days, An Alaskan in Yucatan writer, Marc Olson, fills each post with a slow breathing pin-hole image of one of the most sought after areas for expat living.
  • Being from New Orleans, of French heritage, and an artist, I've always wanted to make art in France.....please?  In French Paintings there is more to painting than discovering a breathtaking landscape!
  • The Church of Chicory is a little bit of soulful connection with the words, images, music and arts of New Orleans.
  • Expat Aids Workers are incredible souls reaching into the lives of some very harsh community environments.  The activist me loves Expat Backup written by Elie Calhoun.  Her message is loving and her writing is on point for expats saving the world.
  • The blog that ushered me and countless others to Merida, Yucatan Living, is the primer gate way for expats and visitors seeking immersion into the Yucatecan lifestyle.
Thank you Broads Abroad Bloggers!

I love your blog. Makes me want to get back out there in the world. You are right, life sometimes demands otherwise, but the dream of living elsewhere is always there for some of us.
